To Xray or Not To Xray: The Case Against Red Flag Criteria in Chiropractic Radiology
By: ProCredits Seminars LLC

Course Description

The proper use of X-ray in Chiropractic has been a well debated topic among the rehabilitation profession for years. Understanding the line between an un-needed X-ray causing unwarranted radiation exposure and a medically necessary radiograph to rule in or rule out a pathology is difficult to define. The use of “Red Flag” criteria may help to clarify this line, but only if interpreted correctly. In this seminar, Dr. Deltoff will rely on his years of radiographic experience as a clinician and instructor to explain this “Red Flag” criteria and how to use it appropriately. What you will learn: -What are “red flag” criteria? -Chiropractic cases that are considered outside of “red flag” criteria. -Policy statements on radiology by a wide variety of chiropractic stakeholders: associations, radiology specialty colleges, regulatory colleges. -Problems and concerns with “red flag” criteria. -Medical research papers questioning the benefits/efficacy of relying on “red flag: criteria.
