This course discusses the difference between genetic tethered oral tissues and restrictions caused by subluxation. It shows the specific anatomy that correlates to feeding function as well as current accepted research about oral tissues (what is normal and what is not) and the possible risks of surgical release. The student will gain an understanding of best care practices regarding feeding dysfunction in relationship with restricted oral tissues.
