Managing Risk and Preventing Stroke in Your Clinic
By: American Chiropractic Association

Course Description

Join Ronald Farabaugh, DC, for this important presentation. The topic of stroke is particularly important given the sensationalized social networking headlines. It is critical that Doctors of Chiropractic understand the importance and mechanics of a good consultation and examination, especially for patients presenting for neck pain and headaches. This issue is not only relevant for the health and safety the patients we serve, but also good for your protection as the provider.

Is there a valid test to screen for stroke? Can you screen for high-risk patients? Are you able to recognize when someone may be in the sequela of an event? Are you comfortable of your internal procedures if the worst happens? How should you document care? What would you do in these three clinical situations? These and other questions will be explored during the webinar. During the course, participants will walk through several real-world clinical vignettes to help you use your critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to determine what you would do in such a circumstance.

This course will assist you with incorporating research into clinical practice and, in turn, develop an evidence-based reputation and internal referral-built practice.
