Course Description

Program Statement of Purpose and Overview: The Laser Therapy Certification Training for Clinicians provides the scientific, safety, and hands-on clinical training to ensure a high proficiency of the participant in the utilization of lasers in the clinical setting. The course will enhance the future of this healing instrument by teaching the participants the proper methods of research and treatment protocols so that the laser modality will become a common tool for all clinicians and safe for all patients. All participants, in addition to attending the 12 hour module, have the option of completing a competency examination.

The 12-hour certification program is conducted over a one-weekend classroom format. The weekend (8 hours on Saturday; 4 hours on Sunday) is didactic and hands-on training on treatment protocols, safety procedures, patient management, and research based clinical treatment. Scheduling will take into consideration a 100 minutes of actual classroom lecture for every two hours of credit given to assure that classroom hour requirements for the institution and licensing boards are met and proper breaks are given for the participant.

12-Hour Course: The program consists of 2 hours of Technical Parameters, 3 hours of Clinical Parameters, 2 hours of Research Parameters, 1 hours of Safety and Risk Management Parameters, 1 hour of State Laws and Rules and Federal Regulation Parameters, and 3 hours of Treatment Protocol Applications.
