Course Description

Summary: The chiropractic profession has evolved over the years to the place that it occupies in healthcare today.  Despite some evolution in clinical practice there are still some areas of the profession that are following an outdated script.  This session will give chiropractic physicians insight on how we can change the narrative on chronic pain disparities through leadership, education, research, and community outreach.   

Learning objectives:

  1. Recognize the need for improvement in chiropractic’s reach to marginalized populations.   
  2. Promote an understanding of diverse and inclusive language. 
  3. Identify educational competencies necessary to produce future chiropractors who are equipped to decrease chronic pain disparities among marginalized populations.  
  4. Evaluate the need for research to inform public health policy for improved chronic pain care access for marginalized communities.
