This course consists of text and video units designed to provide material on the diagnosis and management of a mix of musculoskeletal disorders affecting the spine and the extremities. For each disorder, the material includes information on history taking, physical examination and imaging as well as examples of red flags and suggestions for clinical management. Each unit also includes a case scenario designed to demonstrate how a targeted clinical evaluation methodology with a problem-solving approach can be used to enhance your diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in practice. Participants are asked to reflect on the material and judge whether the main elements of history-taking and physical examination have been adequately investigated. Each unit concludes with a discussion highlighting the essential components of the patient’s disorder. Participants are required to complete multiple-choice quizzes to demonstrate competence in the topics. The course material is supplemented with downloadable patient information sheets as well as rehabilitation exercises.
