This foundational module equips clinical educators with the essential knowledge and tools to effectively evaluate University of Western States chiropractic students in a clinical setting. Designed for practicing chiropractors serving as clinical educators, this course provides a structured approach to professional development and student assessment in key domains of chiropractic practice.
At the core of this module is an in-depth exploration of the Clinical Assessment Tool (CAT), offering detailed guidance on evaluating student performance across critical areas of patient care. Participants will develop assessment strategies to measure student competency in patient history taking, physical examination procedures, clinical findings review, chiropractic adjusting techniques, and active care protocols.
Additionally, clinical educators will utilize a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis framework to enhance their teaching environment. The module also introduces the Council on Chiropractic Education’s (CCE) meta competencies, ensuring educators understand the broader educational objectives and professional standards that students must meet. By completing this module, participants will stay up to date with current professional expectations in chiropractic practice.
