This is a course that takes a look at where chiropractic comes from, the roots that grew the tree that has become one of the largest natural health care branches in the world. Not only will we look at the history but also how does chiropractic philosophy fit into the future. Where are some of the areas that needs more research, or does it, and how does the above – down – inside – out concept move forward in this century? We will take a brief look at some other healing art philosophies and see how they compare with our own and to what extent. The need for chiropractic is growing so we will look at the safety, effectiveness etc., in other words the efficacy of chiropractic. Since we are talking chiropractic we will also include several hours of technique. We will also have two hours of record keeping covering some of the number one reasons we don’t get paid sometimes and how to improve our collection percentages. LEARNING OBJECTIVES The student will leave have a better understanding regarding the importance of philosophy, why when we look at a map such as in a shopping mall we always find the spot that shows where we are starting/coming from so we know how to get where we want to go. Every profession has a philosophy by participating in this class the students will have a greater appreciation for ours. Many feel it should be changed. We can’t change the past, what happened has happened. Even if you are among the percentage of chiropractors wanting change what is important is that if we want to change the future we at least need to understand the past and this course provides that. Regarding the efficacy research is constantly moving forward lets cover some of the more recent as well as technique. Learn at least one new adjustment a month. The students will leave with at least one to add to their art form.
