Chiropractic and the Care Community
By: American Chiropractic Association

Course Description

According to the ACA, back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide and prevents people from engaging in work and every day activities. PubMed reports that low back and neck pain are the leading causes of “years lived with disability” in most countries and across age groups.

Pain affects all aspects of a person’s life: physically, emotionally, socially and financially. According to the ACA, it is the most common reason for missed work, negatively impacting employers and communities as a whole. Often times people suffering from back pain turn to drugs for temporary relief, and we are all well aware of the opioid crisis in this country.

Given the fact that chiropractic care is a safe and effective option for back pain, chiropractors are in a key position to make a positive impact both with the patients they care for and their communities.

Key topics that will be covered:

· What is Psychological-Social-Physical Wellbeing

· Costs of Chronic Pain & Injury to both the Employer and Employee

· Human and Mechanical Ergonomics and the Care Community
