PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The latest research demonstrates that spinal bracing with specific design characteristics are beneficial as an adjunct to current non-invasive, non-pharmacologic treatments for subacute and chronic low back pain. However, longstanding misconceptions about bracing have prevented widespread adoption outside of traditional applications focused on motion restriction.

PROGRAM GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Upon successful completion of this program, the registrant will:

  1. Understand the myths and misconceptions regarding spinal bracing and the lack of clinical evidence supporting these misconceptions.
  2. Understand the benefits of bracing for enhancing trunk stability and the clinical evidence that supports these concepts.
  3. Understand the benefits of bracing as an adjunct to current treatment options.
  4. Understand the benefits of bracing as a non-invasive, non-pharmacologic treatment option.
