Course Description

This course introduces the learner to the history of and science behind cervical and lumbar

traction. Evidence based chapters in this course include topics of the history of traction, the

anatomy and physiology affected during and after a traction treatment, indications and

pathophysiology that can benefit from traction and how to use a portable traction machine for

prevention, pain, posture, performance, recovery and relaxation indications. This course

includes easy to navigate clinical protocols for safe and effective use of portable cervical and

lumbar traction devices and is appropriate for clinicians who have no previous training in the use

of portable traction devices.
