Course Description

Program Description: This course is will prepare the chiropractic physician to practice Trigger Point Needling TrPtDN for Neuromusculoskeletal conditioons. A variety of TrPtDN techniques will be taught in the 50 hours, enabling the practioner to diagnose and safely treat NMS conditions with confidence. Program Goals & Objectives: Upon successful completioon of this program, the registrant will be able to: Demonstrate Clean Needle Technique and understand Infection Control Perform safe and precise needling of the anatomical structures following standardized safety procedures including the clean needling technique, the safe insertion protocols along with the safe needle removal and disposal, and blood management protocols. Understand the concepts of Trigger Point Needling and how it differentiates from Acupuncture. Develop an understanding of the different theories and methods of Trigger Point Needling. Demonstrate and understand proper Trigger Point Needling Techniques. Understand various treatment protocols for treating Neuromusculoskeletal conditions, including Peripheral Nerve Entrapment Syndromes. Understand risk management and how to inform patients and other practitioners about the possible adverse effects of acupuncture interventions, based on current information published in the peer reviewed literature. Program Topics: Trigger point Needling Techniques, Differential Diagnosis, Documentation & Recordkeeping, Proper & Ethical Billing and Coding, Rehabilitation, Risk Management Format: We will be utilizing PowerPoint presentations, lecturing, and hands-on needling.
