Spinal Bio-Engineering Seminar
By: Academy of Chiropractic

Course Description

Ever wonder where and why to adjust? Looking for predictable clinical results? This seminar develops an optimum spine based on anatomy and physiology. Then it goes on to demonstrate how a spine model can be used to determine corrective spine adjustments. Using computer assisted methods Dr. Wiegand developed a coherent spinal model that describes an optimum spine, an organized spine in ideal compensation and a disorganized spine with subluxation. The model is based on the geometric analysis of over 100,000 radiographs. Clinical application demonstrates the majority of patients report 90% improvement in 10 treatments or less. Fundamental and advanced concepts on spinal biomechanics are introduced by presenting a coherent spinal model describing normal segmental coupling, regional adaptation and global compensation. The normal movements of gait are integrated in this total biomechanical approach to explain pelvic subluxation, predictable functional scoliosis and lumbar disc failure. These concepts are demonstrated to radiographic analyses and physical findings. Adjusting techniques will be demonstrated to integrate this information with your adjusting techniques. Soft tissue rehabilitation will be presented in consideration to the structural and functional analysis.
