Pre-Treatment Rehab
By: Pettibon Institute

Course Description

Class 2: Breaking cycles of acute pain/spasm quickly. In this module we will review stages of injury and how to help the patient through the acute stage with the least pain and the best outcomes. The emphasis is on soft tissue response to acute injury, adjusting and rehab for correction in the saggital plane. This also sets the patient up for the greatest success in corrective care. This class will be going over the initial normal nerve, muscle and disc/ligament functions. Each patient’s body responds to stress factors differently from the external environment and the internal body environment, so we cover the abnormalities in each area of the: nerves, muscles and discs/ligaments. This information is a great foundation for knowing if a part of the body is functioning normally or abnormally. We then take these concepts and principles and apply the appropriate rehabilitation procedures to help each step of the healing process. This will increase the healing process and decrease healing time.
