Course Description

Program Description: This session provides an overview on the principles, practices, nomenclature, patient work-up and management of the pediatric patient in the chiropractic internist office. Program Goals / Objectives: At the end of the session, the student will have a detailed understanding of:  Your role in the health of the pediatric population.  Milestones and normal development.  Recognition, diagnosis and treatment of common childhood complaints.  Recognizing and responding appropriately to pediatric emergent issues.  Your responsibilities regarding child abuse and recognize symptoms of such.  Recognizing and responding to nutritional need, deficiencies and toxicities.  The far reaching health effects of nutrition and a healthy functioning digestive system.  Long term impact of lifestyle on the pediatric population and how to educate and influence the parents and child.  How the role of a chiropractic internist can benefit the pediatric population.
