Introduction to Fascia: Basics for Therapy Providers - Home Study
By: Structure & Function Education

Course Description

Management of pain through non-opioid based modalities has gotten significant focus given the opioid epidemic. Given the effectiveness of myofascial techniques for managing pain and increasing function, practitioners should know not only how myofascial techniques effects pain perception but why it is so effective. Many practitioners have been trained in myofascial techniques but do not understand how this modality works and the effectiveness of the technique for increasing mobility and function, particularly the new literature that focuses on the physiology of the fascia and how it relates to dysfunction and pain. This home study course is designed for those practitioners interested in the latest up to date evidence with regard to not only how this modality effects pain perception but increases in function clinically. It is our hope that practitioners will use these techniques for pain management after this home study course.
