In this seminar, Dr. Hewitt will discuss epidemiology, etiology and pathophysiology related to asthma in children. Included will be risk factors, the current state of medical diagnosis and current medical management. Clinical rationale for chiropractic management of children with asthma will be discussed. The research evidence published in this area of chiropractic science will also be discussed. Treatment tools and chiropractic management will be covered including manual care, relevant supplementation, lifestyle and exercise recommendations, as well as co-management with other health professionals. Throughout her presentation, Dr. Hewitt will pepper her instruction with clinical pearls from her 32 years of experience in pediatric practice.
