Fundamentals of Blood Flow Restriction Training - Chattanooga TN - June 27th, 2020

    This 8-hour course covers the skills necessary to safely and effectively implement Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. The course is set up in a “learn by doing” format in which participants will receive hands-on instruction in the proper use of BFR Equipment and Training. After understanding the history, research, physiology, and implications for use, attendees will put this in to practice in supervised lab sessions. They will be exposed to exercise protocols and provided with resources to ensure safe training. In order to be certified in HawkGrips BFR, attendees will be required to pass a 20 question exam with a passing score of 70% at the conclusion of the course. 

    InstructorTyler Nelson DC, MS, CSCS
    About the InstructorTyler Nelson DC, MS, CSCS owns and operates a chiropractic sports medicine clinic and strength & conditioning business in Salt Lake City, UT. While earning his doctoral degree he completed a dual program masters degree in exercise science and rehabilitation through the University of Missouri. While in graduate school he worked with the University of Missouri athletics department and currently is employed through two colleges in Utah. He has previously worked as an anatomy and physiology teacher, and also worked as a team physician for the Brigham Young University athletics department. He is certified by the NSCA as a strength and conditioning specialist. Dr. Nelson has had multiple speaking engagements around the world at the professional level. He is the co-founder of a certification course created specifically designed to teach rock climbing coaches about strength and conditioning science. His current interest is in the utilization of isometric testing at specific joint angles as a means to prescribe training loads and create repetition cut-offs. He has been teaching blood flow restriction certification courses since 2018.
