ACA Webinar: Clinical Considerations for Treating Persons Living with HIV

  • Board Restrictions note: Co-sponsored courses may not be eligible for CE in Tennessee; Credit calculations may vary for New Mexico approval
  • The course serves to educate chiropractors on HIV/AIDS seroconversion and pathophysiologic processes as related to the musculoskeletal system. Learners will be presented with indicators for when to screen for HIV, importance of inquiring about HIV status, and information intended to increase differential diagnostic capacity for HIV/AIDS and musculoskeletal pathology.

    •    Introduce HIV prevalence and treatments in addition to pathophysiology of HIV/AIDS 
    •    Identify musculoskeletal comorbidities associated with HIV infection and treatment
    •    Encourage testing and HIV status knowledge and disclosure

    About the InstructorDr. William Foshee currently serves as the American Chiropractic Association Commission on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Chair and as the chair for the Next Gen ACA Committee, the representative committee for more than 2000 early career chiropractors at ACA. He is a 2017 graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University where he served as the student body president and was honored as a Diversity Leadership Scholar for his commitment to underserved population health. He was also named a Philanthropy Fund Foundation Scholar in recognition of his leadership and service to the LGBTQIA community. Dr Foshee endeavors to positively impact culturally competent delivery of chiropractic care.
