This program will explain the philosophy behind Myofascial Trigger Point Release. The student will be able to identify and perform a variety of techniques and understand how to incorporate these techniques into practice.  This course will include instruction on how to use foam rollers and to perform self myofascial techniques using a small ball.

Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:

*Explain the techniques associated with Myofascial Trigger Point Release
*Explain how to incorporate these practices into treatment plans
*Identify patients who will benefit from this technique
*Identify patients who will not benefit from this technique
*Describe a variety of techniques available and how they are performed
*Perform myofascial trigger point release techniques

Method of Instruction: Lecture, Demonstration, Hands-on Practice

Students are asked to please bring a flat sheet and dress comfortably.

About the InstructorDr. Toni Lasala, PhD, Certified Exercise Physiologist, LMT, NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS)- BA from William Paterson University, Master of Arts, Exercise Physiology from Montclair State University and Doctor of Philosophy at Seton Hall University. Taught Group Exercise for New Vitality and Inspire Programs at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Health Fitness and Wellness Consultant for Hoffmann -La-Roche, Assistant Professor at William Paterson University, Dept. of Kinesiology. Toni has worked in a variety of Fortune 500 companies and has implemented and started fitness and wellness programs. Toni is a published author whose research is on energy metabolism in an anti-gravity environment with those who are obese.
