Functional Integrated Acupuncture is a leading multidisciplinary certification program that has been successfully completed by a wide range of healthcare professionals. With a biomedical focus on acupuncture for pain and sport injury management systems, you will learn to improve patient outcomes with specialized advanced needling techniques. You will benefit from a convenient, unique, blended learning program built out of Dr. Scappaticci’s extensive clinical experience working with athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and Olympics. 

Module 2: Acute and Chronic Pain Management
A three day weekend of practical needling with an emphasis on acupuncture for pain management, physiological and biomechanical homeostasis. The program will present a symptomatic approach for neuromyofascial pain in the head, neck, shoulder, upper limbs, upper and lower back, hip, lower limbs, groin and SCM. 

Module 3 - Sport Injury Management

A three day weekend of practical needling with an emphasis on acupuncture for sports injury accompanied by thorough explanations of the underlying theory and key principles of why and how functional integrated acupuncture works, the body’s physiological response and the root causes of sports injuries. Areas of focus are upper and lower limbs, cervical spine, TMJ, lower back, hip, groin, knee, ankle and foot.

About the InstructorDr. Scappaticci graduated from CMCC in the class of 1992. He is the originator of Functional Integrated Therapy (FIT) - an innovative and highly successful approach used to manage injuries and enhance athletic performance. Dr Scappaticci shares the FIT system through courses he has developed for chiropractors and other allied health care professionals. His foundation in acupuncture began with his studies in Sri Lanka followed by his work at McMaster University where he was the original lead instructor of the acupuncture program and taught acupuncture energetics techniques of Dr. Joseph Helms drawing from both traditional Chinese medicine and western medical acupuncture models. He also studied with the founder of the American Dry Needling Institute, Dr. Yun Tao Ma, a highly respected authority on pain management, sports and trauma rehabilitation. Dr. Scappaticci owns a successful clinical practice where he actively treats patients. He also manages recovery and performance optimization for both professional and amateur athletes including his continuation of a 15 year tenure with the Toronto Blue Jays. He has or currently treats athletes in the National Hockey League, National Football League, National Basketball Association, Canadian Football League and Olympics.
