Course Description: Stress, diet, and exercise all have tremendous impacts on our health. How do we keep it altogether and stay healthy? This presentation will review and present the impact of having low stomach acid on our health and well-being. Musculoskeletal manifestations will be discussed as well. While this effect is quite common it is very untreated and unmanaged. From high school experiments to daily life, this will be a fun and engaging presentation with direct applications for the chiropractic office.

    • Acids and bases
    • Why is the stomach acidic
  • Signs and symptoms of low stomach acid
    • what’s the story behind reflux
  • Clinical consequences of low stomach acid
  • The burp test and what it means
    • how to do the test and what it tells us
  • Considerations for low stomach acid
    • Fermented foods and supplementation
    • Daily considerations for everyone

Learning Objectives:

  • Review and discuss the anatomy and physiology of the proximal alimentary canal
  • Critically analyze research on stomach acid
  • Develop applications to clinical chiropractic practice
  • Integrate patient education protocols
InstructorMichael Hall, DC, FIACN
About the InstructorDr. Michael W. Hall is widely known for his passion of chiropractic, neurology, and patient care. For the past 25+ years he has been teaching post-graduate clinical neurology throughout the US and around the world. He graduated with honors from Parker College of Chiropractic in 1990. He then went on to attain diplomate status in chiropractic clinical neurology thru the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology in 1993. Later received his fellowship from the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology in 2008. He has published research, presented at scientific conferences, lectured extensively at chiropractic colleges, and continues to maintain an active clinical practice while raising five beautiful children. Dr. Hall has received numerous recognitions for outstanding teaching, contributions to chiropractic, functional neurology, and community service.
