Patient Care in Radiography for the DC

  • This six-hour course discusses the methods available to the doctor of chiropractic to obtain quality x-ray images and to reduce patient exposure to radiation from x-ray. The course is designed to provide Chiropractors with current information on x-ray production, patient protection and procedures related to producing quality radiographs in the chiropractic office. The learner’s activities and actual course time is tracked electronically. The learner is engaged in this distance-based class by the use of interactive teaching tools.

    About the InstructorCliff Tao DC, DACBR Dr. Cliff Tao is a chiropractic radiologist and has a private radiology practice in Orange County, serving other chiropractors as well as medical physicians in providing diagnostic imaging interpretation. Dr. Tao is subspecialized in plain film, MR, and CT imaging of the spine and musculoskeletal system. He is an assistant professor at the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) and is supervising clinician at the Cerritos College Student Health Center. He lectures regularly in post-graduate seminars not only to his fellow chiropractors, but also to medical radiology residents. After graduating from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois, he completed a diagnostic imaging residency at SCU in Whittier, California. He has also completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging research at UCI Medical Center in Orange, California. Dr. Tao is published in several chiropractic and medical journals and has continuing research and publication activity with both SCU and UCI Medical Center. He is a member of the Southern California Musculoskeletal Society, secretary for the Orange County Chiropractic District of the California Chiropractic Association (CCA), faculty member of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists (ACCO), and fellow of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology (ACCR).
